About

Gosport Allotment Holders and Gardeners Association was established around 1947 and since then has been active in providing services to the growing community in Gosport. Whilst our role and reach has evolved over time our current role is to provide trading and social facilities for those who are Allotment Holders and Gardeners.

We operate through a membership system which provides the following benefits for those who choose to join:

  • Trading Huts at the following Allotment Sites: Brockhurst, Camden, Elson, Middlecroft, Rectory, Manor Way, and Rowner where our products are quite a bit cheaper than other local retailers.
  • Access to discounted seeds from Kings Seeds.
  • Discounted seed potato ordering system.
  • Discounted fruit bush/tree ordering system.
  • Free entry to talks by visiting guest speakers.
  • Coach trip to gardens or events of horticultural interest.
  • Access to specialist advice from the Royal Horticultural Society, the National Vegetable Society, and Hampshire Federation of Horticultural Societies.

You do not have to be an Allotment Holder to become a member. We are delighted to welcome anyone with an interest in growing their own produce either in an Allotment, Garden, or Window Box. The membership year runs for a calendar year (Jan to Dec) with new memberships accepted throughout the year. Become a member at any of the Allotment Stores listed above or email enquiries.gosportallotments@gmail.com . Visit the ‘Become a Member’ page for more details.

The Association is managed by a small volunteer committee. If you would like to get involved please contact us.

We host shows annually giving all growers an opportunity to share their successes of the season and visitors to get growing inspiration.

The Association represents the views of Gosport growers at Gosport Borough Council Allotment Stakeholders Consultative group.

The Association also manages the Rectory private allotment site at Alverstoke – visit ‘The Rectory Site’ page for more details.
