Whereas all other Allotment Sites in the Borough are owned and managed by Gosport Borough Council there is a private site known as Rectory which is situated adjacent to Alver Lake in Alverstoke. It is believed the site has been in use for personal cultivation since the 1890s from its early origins as the Church Glebe.
Since 2010 the Association has fully managed the site on a lease from the Diocese of Portsmouth. This has been carried out quietly and efficiently thanks to the efforts of the local management team of Steve and Val. A substantial part of the plot rents are paid over to the Diocese.
